This pattern is believed to describe some of the observed early 20th century (1920s-1930s) high-latitude Northern Hemisphere warming and some, but not all, of the high-latitude warming observed in the late 20th century. The term was introduced in a summary by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencemag.org\/cgi\/content\/short\/288\/5473\/1984\">Kerr (2000) <\/a> of a study by Delworth and Mann (2000).<br \/>\n<lang_fr> Mode de variabilit\u00e9 de l&#8217;oc\u00e9an et atmosph\u00e8re de l&#8217;Atlantique Nord a l&#8217;\u00e9chelle de temps multi-d\u00e9cennale (50 a 70 ans).
